Take note, you worthless pigs at the trough!

Drainage District No. 1 tax rate to drop
August 27, 2008 - 9:18PM
By Laura B. Martinez, The Brownsville Herald

"You've got to learn to hold the line and maintain financial, fiscal year responsibility," Gamez said. "Taxing people over and over is not the answer. It's finding a way to make it work. Don't ask someone to keep feeding you."

At Drainage District #1 and at the BND, it was noted that the tax base has increased, so less of a bite was needed to make budget.

EVERY pig at the trough who votes for even maintaining the current rate as opposed to lowering it should face the wrath and justice of the citizens at the next election cycle.

Their rationalizations ring hollow, their budget postings are full of glaring errors, if not outright swindles. Enough is enough! Basta!

Hey anonito,

Do you need to type in big, capital letters to overcompensate for other areas in your life that are very, very small? Ever heard of Freud?

From The Gospel of Wes Blackmum

He spoketh to the crowd atopeth the mile-high mountain. He told the story of taxes in the City of Brown. . . .

In the final summer months of 2006, the City of Brown told the pig worshippers of themselves, “Snort. A two cent tax drop would suffice. Snort. Snort.”

The dissatisfied idols snorted back in a loud unquestionable unison voice , "Did not the Magic 8-ball decree a three cent rate was attainable."

"Yes," cried the City Managers, "but it could harm us, graceful trough wallowers."

And He noted to the crowd atopeth the mile-high mountain, "Piglet #1 Longoria and Piglet #2 Atkinson faced damnation the following year. Pig A Arroyo and Pig B Hernandez mischievously designed to replace the High Pig Mayor with themselves."

"Lowering taxes three cents good. Two cents bad," snorted High Pig Mayor TreviƱo and the other pigs oinked in agreement. They retired to their private session. They repeated the chant three times while chewing gum and walking backwards. It was saideth later in public, so it was writteneth, and so it was doneth.

"Come May and June 2007," He continued to tell the crowd in front of a Greek stage atop the mile-high mountain, "Piglet #1 and #2 held off damnation. Pig A Arroyo and B Hernandez did not fair as well and were sent to purgatory because the new High Pig Mayor Ahumada promised hope, change, lower taxes, and fiscal responsibility."

The crowd gasped in terror.

"And August 2008 arrived," He continued to tell the crowd in front of a stage built to glorify His stature by the friend of Britney Spears atop the mile-high mountain. "The City of Brown presented their case before the exalted pig leaders."

"Snort. The taxes must be raised more than last year. Snort. Snort."

He warned the attentive followers, "Piglet #3 Cisneros and Piglet #4 Camarillo face damnation the subsequent year. So did the new Pig B Garza." He saideth, "They risketh their position in the sty because other selfish pigs sought to protect their skins two summers prior. They overplayed their pigs feet. They had not listened to the warnings of discomfort upon their fair City. But this did not save them from their hopeless future without Me."

The moral of the story as He saideth to the crowd atopeth the mile-high mountain, "We can do that. We can do that. Hope springs eternal. What you do in the past you do in the future as is done in the present. I approve this message."

This is the word of the Lord Obama.

Were you there?

No, that's not an option for me at this time, though I do envy those who can participate. I remember you attended the last one; that's why I asked.

I also wondered how many people were able to attend on a weekday. Hopefully Channel 12 recorded the workshop.

For $900,000, one would hope that the consultants would schedule IB meetings when working folks could attend. They are paying for their services.

Patricia A., please don't take this the wrong way, but those anons have some merit. IB meetings of late are open to the public. We shouldn't envy on the sidelines. If you live within the city limits, participate and attend. You should be more involve. The city surrounds me, but I'm left out in the cold. I assume you're not.
