The new ball park just isn't going to happen. With the all the nebulous clouds surrounding it to begin with and the addition of the weight of the economy and the Sports Park, it is doomed to a quiet death, unless any commissioners are foolish enough to shop for another partner just because they stupidly committed to spending 7 million bucks anyway. My bet is on Atkinson trying to keep this loaf on the shelf far past its expiration date. The other three can see the writing on the wall, and it isn't graffiti.

So much for knowing. I put it back on the agenda to do away with building a baseball stadium in the middle of nowhere. We tried with the developers to get it right. We could not agree on the written contract that would better safeguard the city.

I agree with Atkinson. Do away with that middle of nowhere location. The stadium would be better if it was along the expressway at the Brownsville Sports Park.

Why so it can be visited more by residents from Rancho, Olmito, and Los Fresnos than those that live in Brownsville down Southmost? Our Taco eating commissioner may not like that. He shouldn't like that.
